The nightlife in Somers Point offers a little bit of everything. There are sports bars, dance clubs, and taverns to choose from. Most offer daily drink specials, and many have live shows with the occasional headliner.

Anchorage Tavern
823 Bay Ave

Somers Point, NJ 08244

(609) 926-1794, (609) 926-1776

One of the nicer taverns in Somers Point, the Anchorage sees a large crowd on weekends, year-round. It is extremely popular with tourists during the summer, as it is located in the bay-front community adjacent to the many condominiums along the water. Anchorage customers lean more toward the preppy side, ranging in age from 21 to 61. It gets a little wild at times, but nothing the average bar patron can’t handle. Seating on the front patio is available during the warmer months. If you want to catch the game, you can view it on one of their six TVs. Two pool tables and the dining room are sectioned off from the main bar area. And there is also a secondary bar between the main room and dining room. Serving lunch and dinner 7 days from 11am ‘til late night. Menu includes Appe-teasers, soup, salad, sandwiches, burgers, chicken, pizza, and Southwestern. Dinner creations include seafood, beef, poultry, pork, Italian specialties, and more. Children's menu available. (American Express, Cash, Diners Card, Discover, MasterCard, Visa accepted)

Charlie's Bar and Restaurant
800 Shore Rd.

Somers Point, NJ 08244

(609) 653-9848

Take-Out: 927-FOOD (3663).

Web site: http://www.charliesbar.com.

Charlie’s caters to both a young and old crowd and, although the place can be a lot of fun, it never gets too wild with drunken college-aged idiots. Here, it is casual and friendly and slightly sports oriented and the food is some of the best pub fare around! Along with a staff and clientele that make for an interesting cocktail hour, Charlie’s is famous for its tremendous Tail Tenders (boneless chicken wings). These tenders get sold and eaten by the bucket-full. You can get them to go, or sit down and enjoy them with an ice-cold beer and some sports TV. 25-cent regular wings also served, as well as homemade soups and salad dressings. Pool, shuffleboard, darts, Big Event Golf, six TVs and two Sony big screens are available. Serving lunch or an early dinner from 11am-4pm. Dinner from 4pm-Midnight. Late night menu until 2am, seven days a week. Fridays from 3-6pm, $1.50 Margaritas. Specials daily. Happy Hour Monday thru Friday 3-6pm with $1 drafts, $2 domestic bottles and $3 import bottles.
