Anchorage
Tavern
823 Bay Ave
Somers
Point, NJ 08244
(609)
926-1794, (609) 926-1776
One of the
nicer taverns in Somers Point, the Anchorage sees a large
crowd on weekends, year-round. It is extremely popular with
tourists during the summer, as it is located in the
bay-front community adjacent to the many condominiums along
the water. Anchorage customers lean more toward the preppy side,
ranging in age from 21 to 61. It gets a little wild at
times, but nothing the average bar patron can’t handle. Seating on the front patio is available
during the warmer months. If you want to catch the game, you
can view it on one of their six TVs. Two pool tables and the
dining room are sectioned off from the main bar area. And
there
is also a secondary bar between the main room and dining
room. Serving lunch and dinner 7 days from
11am ‘til late night. Menu includes Appe-teasers,
soup, salad, sandwiches, burgers, chicken, pizza, and
Southwestern. Dinner creations include seafood, beef,
poultry, pork, Italian specialties, and more. Children's
menu available. (American Express, Cash, Diners Card, Discover,
MasterCard, Visa accepted).

Charlie’s
caters to both a young and old crowd and, although the place
can be a lot of fun, it never gets too wild with drunken

oriented and the food is some of the best pub fare around!
Along with a staff and clientele that make for an
interesting cocktail hour, Charlie’s is famous for its

It is strange in this place. Something you must witness for
yourself. Excellent bartenders though. After a late night here, head to the Point Diner and visit "Scary" Mary.
